Sports Massage

Sports massage has many health benefits, not exclusive to just athletes. It involves a variety of soft tissue manipulation techniques, some often deeper and more intense than therapeutic massage.

Benefits of Sports Massage

Sports massage is considered the most effect therapy for releasing muscle tension and stiffness and helping the body achieve a balance between exercise and recovery. Receiving regular sports massage can help you prevent injuries, which may occur through overuse. The regular application of massage allows the therapist to detect imbalances in soft tissue and so help you to maintain a healthier physical state. A sports massage with Ellie can help with any of the following:

  • Back, neck and shoulder pain
  • Migraine and tension headaches
  • General muscle tension
  • Joint discomfort and stiffness
  • Sporting injuries – including muscle strains and ligament injuries
  • Anxiety and stress reduction, relaxation and an overall feeling of well-being

Other Treatments

HOT STONE MASSAGE

A hot stone massage is a therapeutic treatment where smooth, heated basalt stones are used to perform massage strokes. The heat from the stones helps your muscles to relax, and give relief from any tension, aches and pains. This treatment is perfect for those that need time to relax and de-stress.

Our hot stone massages vary in time and body area covered. For complete full body ultimate relaxation, including the feet, arms, neck and face, a 90 minute treatment option is available. A 60 minute treatment includes a full body hot stone massage, incorporating the neck and face. Lastly, a 30 minute half body hot stone massage is available, covering the back, neck and face.

INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE

Indian head massage is a relaxing therapy that involves massage of the upper back, shoulders, neck, head and face. This treatment is carried out over a 30 minute session, sat up-right, through clothes and can be completed with or without oil. Indian head massage can provide relief from aches and pains and stress symptoms, promote hair growth, re-balance your skin and give you a sense of deep calmness and tranquillity.

Client Feedback

  • I Regularly visit and would highly recommend. I have a physical job and exercise regularly which means aches and pains. Which have been greatly lessened by attending sessions at Loominous Sports Therapy. It is always a very comfortable, relaxed, atmosphere. The massages themselves are deep and targeted. Ellie provides great treatment and advice with regards to injuries also providing kinesiology taping which I’ve received and been able to use more effectively with her guidance.

  • I had a massage with Elli on Thursday night and I’m not going to lie it wasn’t relaxing as my body was such a tight mess but I have to say the next day I felt 100 times better. I have been suffering from constant headaches for the last couple of months and I woke up the next morning after my massage headache free. My muscles actually don’t hurt all the time now and this is HUGE for me. Elli is a genius I can not recommend her highly enough.
